Advice for using Setacolor Leather line

| Instructions | • Colors are applied on a surface previously degreased with the range's degreaser-preparer to remove the protective varnish covering the surface and degrease it for optimal color adhesion. |
| • The range's resistance has been approved through a testing protocol based on 100,000 folds as well as a wet friction resistance test after 200 cycles according to ISO 11998 standard, showing that SETACOLOR LEATHER is 3 times more resistant than market standards. | |
| • For an optimal and long-lasting result, it is recommended to apply protective varnishes on the works. | |
| • 23 matte-satin colors : Ultra resistant, covering and luminous colors. Once the surface is prepared, they should be applied in thin and even coats for a uniform finish. Colors are opaque in a maximum of 3 thin coats. Allow to dry at least 15 minutes between each coat. They can be worked with a brush or airbrush using the lightening diluent auxiliary. Colors are miscible with each other. | |

| • Metal effect : 3 colors : METAL GOLD, METAL SILVER and METAL BRONZE. Colors become opaque upon drying to reveal the metallic effect. Application on dark surfaces enhances the effect. An infinite number of metallic shades can be obtained by adding a few drops of classic colors to the Metal Silver shade. | |
| • Duochrome effect : UNIQUE category created SPECIALLY by Pébéo to give changing colors according to movement and light. 3 combinations : Pink/Blue, Blue/Green and Yellow/Purple. The effect is revealed on dark surfaces. If the surface is light, apply a black undercoat. | |
| • Glitter effect : 3 colors : Gold Glitter, Silver Glitter and Iridescent Glitter. To be used as a transparent layer, on a color base or mixed with color. To be applied with a brush only (not compatible with airbrush). | |
| • Fluorescent effect : 2 colors : Fluo Yellow and Fluo Pink. Preferably apply on light surfaces. Can be worked with a brush or airbrush. | |
| • Phosphorescent effect : Applied in a thick layer and in successive touches. The effect is enhanced in darkness after exposure to light. To be worked with a brush only (not compatible with airbrush). | |

| • 1/ Degreaser-Preparer : Allows to prepare and degrease the surface to remove the protective varnish. Soak an absorbent paper or cloth and rub the surface. Hazardous product - use outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. | |
| • 2/ Lightening Diluent : For airbrush, 1 to 1 mixture (diluent and color). Also allows to dilute, thin and lighten colors without altering their properties. | |
| • 3/ Glue : Allows to glue various materials (cotton, leather, polyester...) and elements (beads, powder...) on leather or faux leather. Apply only on areas to be glued and glue immediately without waiting for drying. | |
| • 4/ Masking Gum : Peelable drawing gum for creating reserve areas. Apply in a thick layer. Drying time approximately 30 minutes. Peels off with fingers within a maximum of 15 days after application. | |
| • 5/ Matte-satin and gloss varnishes : Apply on the work after 24h drying. With a wide flat brush or airbrush (gloss varnish without dilution, matte-satin varnish mixed 50% water / 50% varnish). | |
| • Markers : Range of 10 colors with extra fine tip. Ideal for drawing, writing and working on details. Shake well before use. Do not press too hard. Store flat. A pack of 3 replacement tips is available. | |
| FAQ | Why and how to apply the Degreaser-Preparer auxiliary ? It removes the protective varnish covering the leather or faux leather and degreases it for optimal adhesion. Soak an absorbent paper or cloth and rub the surface. Work outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. |
| Why is it necessary to mix the bottles or shake the markers before use ? This homogenizes the product to obtain a more uniform shade or finish. | |
| How long should you wait between each coat of color, or before varnishing ? Minimum 15 minutes between each coat. It is recommended to wait 24h before varnishing the work. | |
| Which products are compatible with the airbrush ? All matte-satin colors, Metal, Duochrome and Fluorescent effect colors as well as the 2 varnishes are compatible. Glitter and Phosphorescent colors are not compatible. | |
| How to prepare products for the airbrush ? 1 to 1 mixture with the lightening diluent auxiliary for matte-satin, metal, duochrome and fluorescent colors. Gloss varnish can be used without dilution. Matte-satin varnish mixed 50% water / 50% varnish. | |
| On what background should Duochrome and Fluorescent effect colors be applied ? The duochrome effect is revealed on dark surfaces. The fluorescent effect is more visible on white surfaces. | |
| Is it possible to have a varnish finish between matte-satin and gloss ? Yes, by mixing the 2 varnishes in the desired proportions. | |
| What type of brush should be used to apply varnishes ? A wide flat brush for a perfectly uniform finish. | |
| How to use Setacolor Leather markers ? Shake well before use. Do not press too hard. Ideal for drawing, writing and working on details or flat areas, to be used alone or layered over Setacolor Leather colors. | |
| Is it possible to replace the marker tip ? Yes, a pack of 3 replacement tips is available. Remove the white wick holder, hold the white foam beneath the metal tip and remove only the tip. Replace with a new metal tip and screw back the wick holder. |
